JOB DESCRIPTION The Auditorium AV Technician is responsible for organising, setting up and maintaining audio-visual (AV) equipment and technologies within auditoriums, performance spaces, learning areas, event spaces and adhoc external events. This role ensures the seamless operation of AV systems to support educational and event activities. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare and set up AV equipment for presentations, events and ensuring all systems are functional and meeting user requirements. Provide technical support and assistance to instructors, presenters, and event organisers, troubleshooting issues during presentations and events. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting of AV equipment, including projectors, sound systems, microphones, and lighting systems Manage an inventory of AV equipment, ensuring equipment is properly stored and labelled Work closely with other AV Technicians and provide technical support as and when required Maintain records of AV equipment inventory, maintenance, and repair activities Any other duties that may be assigned by the Line Manager Be prepared to support and organise events and activities at weekends and after normal school hours and organise additional supporting staff as required. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Associate\'s degree or technical certification in audiovisual technology, information technology, or a related field. Bachelor\'s degree is a plus or professional qualification in the performance arts industry (theatre & concert performance) or equivalent. Minimum 3-5 years experience in organising and managing AV equipment for events and performances of various sizes. Previous experience within the education sector is an advantage. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and technical diagnosis skills. Advanced technical skills with the following equipment & systems: Dante Networked AV systems Performance sound & operating of digital audio console Yamaha QL5 & QL1 Stage lighting control & system (ETC ION xe lighting board) LED Wall system & configuration PTZ camera & DataVideo system Experience with a wide range of AV systems, including projectors, displays, audio systems, microphones, cameras and lighting. Experience using different AV control systems, AV software and integration of AV with other technology platforms. Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster strong interpersonal relationships that allow technical support and training for staff and students with wide ranging levels of competency. Attention to detail in asset management, maintenance and organisation.
