Where you fit

The PET Analyst Role reports directly to the PET Lead. This role will execute the Period End process for Malaysia Upstream Entities as well as the business specific process improvement and the controls simplification agenda. In this role you will interface with business stakeholders and your finance in the business colleagues

What's the role?

Support month end close activities by monitor & review closing cycles for closing cycle in SAP (BLP) for Malaysia Upstream & Indonesia Upstream including (non-exhaustive):

Year End close and Opening balance rollover.

Initiate & support system/process improvement and business change through UAT or input provider:

S4 Hana Project

SMEP business changes (e.g. GK Redet, Upstream Asset Hierarchy change, etc)

WCC & PET Standardization

Custodian of SMEP Cost Allocation Methodology and Unallocated cost review & monitoring.

Control Owner for PET related controls.

Review and approver for Blackline account reconciliation

Financial Closing Cockpit (FCC )- Critical role owner (SAM) and control owner for KL.

Submitter for FCC template changes via Data Request (DR) - UA Task List. Approval of all changes in Control M job scheduler.

Business Continuity Plan (BCP) for R&A KL.

Main Focal for JV & ET audit in relation to PET activities

Master Reference Data (MRD) - Review creations and maintenance of cost objects for SMEP.

Part of ISM for SAP BLP - Integrated Support Model, be the first point of contact for end user queries/raising incidents with IT support and ensure timely closure

Ensure complete, accurate and timely processing of transaction and meet monthly closing cycle deadlines in a self-directed manner.

Develop, review and maintain guidelines that support this objective.

Trouble shoot problems in every area of SAP (BLP) and FCC.

Complying with team, center, process and global policies and procedures.

Provide guidance to team members in the form of on-the-job coaching.

Role requirement

Experienced in complex ERP systems, particularly SAP is an advantage

A strong understanding of financial accounting, reporting and controls, and ability to efficiently execute standard process whist ensuring appropriate levels of compliance

Excellent analytical skills, including an ability to quickly interpret, link and translate complex data quickly into concise insights, understandable to both finance and non-financial stakeholders

Independence and can also be a good team-player.

Ability to remain resilient under time pressure and independently prioritise multiple competing priorities whilst maintaining appropriate attention to detail

Clear and concise English communication, both orally and in writing, is a must

Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to develop strong relationships with staff at all levels.

Requirements

Improvement mindset, with experience of identifying and driving improvement projects

Openness to embrace change and remain focused even where ambiguity exists

Preferably a Graduate in a finance related discipline with experience in similar roles
