Who we are looking for?

Due to our continued growth, Subsea7 have an exciting permanent staff opportunity for Pipeline Installation Analysis Engineering Deputy Team Lead to join our Pipeline Group (PG) team responsible for delivering fit for purpose rigid pipeline installation analysis to projects and/or tenders supported by the PG with specific focus on safe and cost-effective installation operations.

This role will be based in our Kuala Lumpur office and due to restrictions, the preference would be for those who are either Malaysian nationals or those who have a current right to work in the country, but we can give consideration to those who do not hold this depending on their level of experience.

Our Pipeline Analysis Engineers are recognized for their expertise and those in the higher levels positions also for their management skills and can be in charge of specific critical subjects either on business improvement, or projects. You will lead a team of installation analysis project engineers, dealing with rigid pipeline installation analysis in project, FEED or tender.

What does the role involve?

The PG team based in Kuala Lumper is being integrated within the Pipeline Group team located in Singapore. As such, the Deputy Team Lead in KL will report to both the Team Lead in Singapore and to the Installation Analysis Manager of Pipeline Group Engineering located in Sutton.

Duties of the Pipeline Installation Analysis Engineering Deputy Team Lead can involve but are not limited to:

• Lead the Kuala Lumpur Installation Analysis team and act as point of contact interface with local regional stakeholders, such as business and HR, and with wider PG Installation Engineering Management
• Promote and ensure the company safety culture is followed and associated initiatives are in-place to the Installation Engineering team throughout the onshore and offshore delivery phases.
• Promote and ensure a collaborative environment across all the offices and with the project and tender teams.
• Promote and ensure Quality compliance to processes of Subsea7 and Engineering (PR-GL-ENG-014).
• Organize People skills development by being in charge for the local team of the COMPASS, trainings, debriefing and Lessons Learned sessions, \xe2\x80\xa6
• Ease interfaces with others Engineering\xe2\x80\x99s, locally in KL and in other locations (Singapore, Australia and Europe and Americas)
• Ensure interfaces between Project Engineering Managers and PG Package leads work properly and intervene when necessary, in a collaborative manner.
• Give direct engineering guidance to PG installation Analysis Engineers on specific subject matters.
• Manage and participate in technical reviews (PHA, Design review, Constructability review) as and when required, on project and tender phases to ensure proposed work done is safe, cost / time effective, in line with client specification and risks & opportunities properly identified.

What do you need to have?

• You will have previous experience in a lead role within an Installation Analysis team, with demonstrable experience of leading and managing teams of people
• You should be proficient with Orcaflex and familiarity with systems such as Python, VBA and Abaqus is desirable
• You should be a strong communicator, with the ability to organise and lead a team of engineers and develop their skills
• You will have excellent report writing skills with the ability to produce accurate work, as well as the ability to prioritise and organise your work accordingly to meet deadlines set by management
• You will be highly motivated and be able to show a demonstrable commitment to HSE and Quality
• You should have a commitment to Continuing Professional Development, both for yourself and the members of your team
• This role may involve short spells of overseas travel and potential offshore activities so candidates may need to show a willingness and flexibility
