Team and Role Introduction:
Welcome to the Malaysian Platform Governance team. Our team is responsible for ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of our online marketplace by implementing and maintaining governance processes and procedures, as well as ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. We also work closely internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.Our goal is to ensure that our marketplace is a safe and reliable platform for Lazada buyers and sellers without compromising on the experience, while also being compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.The RoleThis person will work closely with compliance, commercial and the product team to curate requirements for the marketplace. This includes reviewing and approving listings and sellers, monitoring for policy violations and also develop and implement new policies.Applicants must have a strong aptitude for being analytical, data-driven in decision making.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, improve and implement new/existing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations
  • Monitor compliance with policies and procedures and ensure timely dissemination of new information to relevant stakeholders
  • Provide advice and support to channel, category, customer care and support stakeholders so as to achieve seller performance KPI
  • Provide guidance and training to internal stakeholders on governance processes and procedures
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and other teams to ensure alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Stay up-to-date on commercial and business developments and update policies as needed
  • Participate in platform testing (UAT) as needed
  • Work closely with seller facing teams to ensure seller education and transparency on all new initiatives.


Job Requirements

This role will be an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with the ability to make an impact on the marketplace and its users. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a passion for policy and guideline overview.
  • 2-3 years of work experience in governance or compliance role, or at least 2-3 years of work experience in marketplace e-commerce, digital operations, project management
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
-Good command of English is crucial - we need to have clear comms within the team and also to the rest of the stakeholders
  • Confident in exploring and trying different platforms & online marketplaces to understand business needs and demands
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Good eye for detail (for QC purposes)
  • Basic SQL Query knowledge is a plus point (Optional but need to learn on the go)
  • Fast learner, fast turn around times
-Flexible - Able to work on weekends (within reason) if required - Example : Weekend Sales need to be on standby to monitor any issues
