Description of function

Alternative I, management of series projects

• Management of products in the series phase/ model maintenance (e.g. model year change, LCI, MOPF

etc.) as internal and external central contact in the sense of product manager

• Clarification of technical requirements with customers
• Verification of the technical feasibility in cooperation with the specialist project managements
• Creation and coordination of schedules (including of subcontractors)
• Recording change requests
• Approval of change requests (e.g. product information, cost evaluations etc.) in cooperation with the

specialist departments and ensuring the timely handling of changes

• Preparation/ evaluation and release of information for analysing the cost effects
• Ensuring the up-to-dateness of data for the DRX-internal digital drawings archive and the CAD

databases, which can be accessed by the customers; acting as contact in the event of discrepancies

• Transfer of series products into the spare parts service (e.g. overhangs, dislocation, setting parts etc.)
• Establishment and maintenance of customer management (e.g. presentations, plant visits etc.)
• Support of the purchasing department in controlling the changes and the selection of suppliers

Alternative II, management of partial development projects

• Clarification of technical requirements and participation in the creation of orders with respect to

development costs in cooperation with the responsible specialist departments

• Elaboration of a suggestion with respect to project organisation, selection of suitable employees in

concert with supervisors, definition of tasks, regulations and interfaces for partial project managements

• Ensuring the elaboration and monitoring of project plans, coordination with specialist departments and, if

applicable, obtaining the approval of the supervisor

• Cooperation in the elaboration and coordination of the project cost planning, monitoring the compliance

and counter-acting in the event of target/ actual deviations

• Ensuring the achievement of project goals according to the agreed performances with the main/ partial

project management

• Cooperation in the clarification of the technical realisation of customers\' change requests in cooperation

with the customers\' development engineers, ensuring the implementation

• Support of the project purchasing team in the definition of requirements, supplier decisions as well as

make-or-buy decisions

• Creation and review of project reports and presentations as well as final project documentations, ensuring

the compliance with the escalation level in the event of target/ actual deviations

• Leading and motivating subordinated employees in project organisation

Alternative III management of partial quality projects

• Establishment and coordination of budget planning for the purchasing parts scope in the respective

project as well as deviating, agreeing on and tracking goals and measures with the specialist project
manager for quality, based on functional requirements and in concert with the specialist departments (e.g.
purchasing department etc.)

• Identification of internal and external customer requirements as well as documentation of the

requirements in the relevant IT systems

• Stipulation of milestones for all project relevant internal/ external suppliers in the global supplier network
• Creation and implementation of the risk filter and control of measures as well as ensuring the implementation of quality planning processes (e.g. advanced product quality planning (APQP) etc.) with critical suppliers
• Cooperation in the selection and qualification of suppliers as well as support in escalations
• Implementation of capacity analyses in the global environment of the supply management
• Cooperation in SEP reviews and management of SEP contents for purchasing parts
• Ensuring the compliance with the project schedule with respect to all purchasing parts volumes maturity

level activities as well as interface management in the global supplier network/ production network

• Responsibility of the subdivisions of supplier quality and component maturity level in customer audits
• Ensuring the documentations across the project development phase and during series production and

forwarding them to the corresponding body in the project hierarchy

• Explanation of the maturity level of the purchased parts/ components towards customers

Alternative IV, management of production projects

• Plan, organize and control subprojects, in cooperation with project management and after approval by

supervisor

• Develop, monitor and coordinate project plans with project leaders / supervisors
• Develop and coordinate subproject cost planning; monitor compliance and take countermeasures in

case of deviations

• Reach subproject goals with regard to production-relevant topics (e.g. plan processes in the

industrialization phase, etc.)

• Implement change requests by internal and external customers, analyze and evaluate cost effects in

cooperation with project management and supervisors

• Support in supplier selection and in the creation / signing of task interface agreements with suppliers,

and provide support in make-or-buy decisions

• Prepare to transfer a project to series production and provide series support as contact person for

product-specific issues

• Lead and motivate associates who report to him/her in the project organization
• Assure sub-production up through transfer to series production

Requirements

Specialist knowledge: Professional/graduate education (experienced professional) usually acquired
through a bachelors degree or professional certification with a few (two to three)
years of experience in the related field (proficient in a technical, scientific or
specialized field requiring an understanding of a body of theoretical knowledge)

Type of activities: Design/set up methods of resolution for differing situations, including detailed
analysis of the situation/causes

Scope: Clearly defined, but not comprehensive guidelines; general monitoring of success
(after activity is completed)
