Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management roles within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food production industry.
Good understanding of Malaysian food regulations, HACCP, GMP, ISO 9001, and Halal Certification.
Familiar with customs documentation and import/export procedures (if applicable).
Proficiency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin, with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively negotiate with suppliers and collaborate with internal teams.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, identify cost reduction opportunities, and improve inventory control processes.
Proven experience in vendor management, including vendor selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance evaluation.
Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management principles, inventory control techniques, and purchasing best practices to optimize procurement processes and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Ability to work onsite at the Batu Caves / Serendah location and effectively manage purchasing activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibility
1. Procurement & Sourcing
Plan, coordinate, and execute purchasing activities for all production-related materials and services.
Source, evaluate, and develop qualified suppliers for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging.
Obtain competitive quotations, negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
Ensure suppliers comply with
Halal

HACCP

GMP
requirements.
2. Supplier Management & Compliance
Maintain and update the Approved Supplier List in collaboration with QA and Production.
Conduct supplier audits, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Product Specifications
.
Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure supply stability.
3. Inventory & Material Planning
Work closely with the Production and Warehouse teams to ensure sufficient inventory levels.
Monitor material usage and coordinate replenishment to avoid stock shortages or overstocking.
Support implementation of ERP or MRP systems to improve purchasing and inventory accuracy.
4. Cost & Contract Management
Support the Purchasing Manager in achieving annual cost-saving targets.
Review and control purchase orders (PO) and supplier contracts to ensure compliance with company budget and policies.
Monitor market trends, pricing movements, and supplier competitiveness in Malaysia and abroad.
Negotiate long-term contracts with strategic suppliers.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Ensure proper documentation of all purchase records, contracts, and supplier communications.
Prepare procurement reports and cost analysis for management review.
Support internal and external audits (Halal, HACCP, GMP, ISO, or Customer audits).
6. Team Supervision & Continuous Improvement
Supervise and guide the purchasing team in daily operations and performance improvement.
Train staff on purchasing policies, supplier evaluation, and food safety-related procurement requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in purchasing management.
