Position Title: QC Chemist

Location: Malaysia, Petaling Jaya

Function: Operations / Production

Role Objective

Responsible in determining the quality of every production batches manufactured in the plant. The role requires discipline in maintaining the outmost integrity in evaluating the result of the production batches objectively through the standard test in the product. EHS and 5S is important to ensure the safety of all personnel and maintain the standards in the plant and it must be complied by the incumbent. The role requires knowledge or skill in paint making, paint technology or chemical and have previously worked in a manufacturing plant in production or quality control. You will report to the Quality Manager and will work on-site at Petaling Jaya Plant.

Key Responsibilities

Support QA manager to ensure all the safety, quality and customer requirement are follow.

Ensure all the departmental procedure is follow and update the process flow.

Coordinate and support new product development activity related to product Quality.

To perform investigation with team on customer complaint, SSPL and return goods.

Work with manager, co-worker and technical to resolve the product quality issue.

Work with Process Engineer for formula optimization.

Lead the new product supervision and hand over process.

Ensure all the important machine maintenance preventive been performed on time and buy-off the maintenance quality before release the machine back for operation.

Raise the internal CAIR to related section if there are any abnormality observed.

Weekly or monthly quality related reporting.

To track First Time Quality (FTQ) and perform RCA on low FTQ test method.

Monitor in-process rejection by defect type.

Improve productivity by developing projects to eliminate the non-value added test.

Release product quality at nominal range of test results.

Maintain good 5S and EHS compliance in the work area.

Requirement

Minimum 2 years working experience in manufacturing plant preferably in paint industry and QC function.

Knowledge in paint or chemicals.

Manual spray painting skill is an added advantage.

Preventive maintenance monitoring and finished goods product foot print implementation.

Demonstrated multi-tasking skills and make decision on solving non-conformance products.

Demonstrated problem solving skills.
