Quality Control / Assurance Executive

Job Description

To ensure that all food and beverage products sold by the company comply with relevant food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements set by Malaysian authorities (e.g., KKM, FQSD, DOA, JAKIM, KPDN, etc.). The role involves monitoring product quality, handling supplier documentation, conducting inspections, and maintaining quality systems in line with company and legal standards.

1. Product Quality Control



Conduct incoming product inspection for both imported and locally sourced food and drink items including private label items. Investigate complaints related to product quality and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers or internal teams. Perform sensory evaluations (appearance, smell, taste) where applicable.

2. Documentation & Quality Assurance



Review and maintain product technical files including Certificate of Analysis (COA), specifications, test reports, and certificates (e.g., Halal, Organic, HACCP, GMP). Ensure labeling and packaging information comply with Malaysian Food Regulations. Coordinate periodic review and approval of product labels and artworks. Maintain records of supplier quality performance and audit reports.

3. Regulatory Compliance



Ensure all products meet regulatory requirements under Food Act 1983, Food Regulations 1985, and other related guidelines. Liaise with government agencies product compliance matters. Keep updated on changes in Malaysian food regulations and communicate relevant updates to internal stakeholders. Support registration or notification of imported products and private label products when necessary.

4. Quality System & Audits



Support supplier audits and internal audits to verify compliance with quality standards. Participate in training programs related to food safety and quality improvement.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination



Work closely with all related departments to ensure products meet safety and quality standards before release. Provide technical support to marketing and retail operations on quality- related inquiries.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related field.

Minimum 2-3 years of experiencein Quality Assurance / Quality Control within the food or beverage industry, preferably in retail or Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). Experience with product labeling review, supplier quality management, or regulatory submission is an added advantage.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Good knowledge of Food Act 1983, Food Regulations 1985, Halal Certification requirements, and imported food regulations in Malaysia. Familiar with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent standards. Strong attention to detail, analytical, and documentation skills. Good communication skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English (written verbal). Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Organized and methodical with strong problem-solving ability. Able to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. High sense of responsibility and integrity

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
