Candidate must possess at least bachelor's degree or above in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveyor, Construction Cost Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying focused on tendering for building projects; experience in building construction project and housing construction projects are preferred.
Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin, with clear communication skills.
Familiarity with Malaysian construction market and local regulations.
Proficiency in quantity calculation and cost estimation, and familiarity with relevant surveying software (e.g: AutoCAD, CostX, Excel).
Understanding of fixed lump-sum contract models, with experience in BOQ preparation and verification.
Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work under pressure, adapting to the fast-paced tendering process.
Immediate availability with the ability to work independently and effectively in a team.
Responsibilities
Responsible and preparation of cost estimates, tender documents preparation, and pricing for building construction projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements and contract terms.
Managing project budgets, including forecasting and monitoring costs.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all project-related costs and financial transactions.
Understanding the client requirements and quantities take off as per marking and RCP drawings.
Prepare and review the BOQ (bill of quantities) based on design drawings and contract requirements, and conduct quantity calculation and verification based on tender drawings to ensure BOQ accuracy.
Identifying gaps between BOQ and drawings, specifications and conditions of the contract and taking IT for a logical closure.
Consult and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and coordinate contract terms. Participate in tender inquiries and clarifications to ensure that the tender documents comply with standards and specifications.
Monitor and control costs throughout the project, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Coordination with the design team for analysing architectural and service drawings.
Manage the valuation of work done and handle claims and variations.
Preparing interim and final valuations, variations and claims of the construction site.
Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises.
Collaborate with stakeholders to optimise project outcomes and achieve value for money.
