Ramp Service Handler

, also known as a

Ramp Agent

or

Baggage/Ramp Operator

, is responsible for ground operations that support aircraft turnarounds. The role involves loading/unloading baggage, operating ground service equipment (GSE), and ensuring safe, efficient aircraft handling.

Key Responsibilities Aircraft Ground Handling



Marshal aircraft during arrival and departure Position chocks, cones, and safety equipment around the aircraft Connect and disconnect ground support units (GPU, ACU, ASU, tow bars) Assist with aircraft pushback operations under supervision

Baggage & Cargo Operations



Load and unload passenger baggage, cargo, and mail Ensure proper weight distribution and safe loading according to load plan Transport baggage between terminal and aircraft using baggage carts/trolleys Check for damaged or restricted baggage and report irregularities

Ramp Safety & Compliance



Follow airport safety rules, airline SOPs, and dangerous goods regulations Maintain a clean and safe ramp area, free of FOD (Foreign Object Debris) Conduct pre-operation checks for GSE and report any defects Wear proper PPE and enforce ramp safety procedures

Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Operation



Safely operate equipment such as: Baggage tractors Belt loaders Cargo dollies Ground power units (GPU) Air conditioning units (ACU) High-loaders / ULD lifters (depending on airport) Ensure equipment is parked and secured correctly after use

Aircraft Turnaround Coordination



Communicate with load controllers, supervisors, and dispatch for loading instructions Assist in on-time performance (OTP) by completing tasks efficiently Support boarding gate staff during heavy operations if required

Irregular Operations Handling



Assist during flight delays, diversions, and last-minute baggage requests Manage rush bags and coordinate with baggage services

Skills & Qualifications



Physically fit; able to lift baggage (up to 32kg depending on airline) Able to work in outdoor conditions (heat, rain, noise) Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays Good teamwork, communication, and time management Basic English communication skills Valid driving license (for GSE operation is an advantage) SPM Fresh Graduates are Welcomed

Preferred Experience



Experience in ground handling, logistics, or warehouse operations Knowledge of ramp safety procedures Prior training in DG (Dangerous Goods), AVSEC, or GSE operation
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: Up to RM1,700.00 per month
