Job Description

Key Responsibilities:



To create, design and develop new recipes, dishes, desserts or food products aligned with market trends, brand identity and customer preferences Responsible to ensure taste, consistency and texture to meet quality and cost efficiency for profitability objectives Write down recipe specifications, portion sizes, cooking/baking procedures, ingredient sourcing, and maintain proper documentation to maintain standardization of recipes Research for new ingredients, suppliers or alternatives to evaluate ingredient quality and suitability and source raw materials Ensure all developed products comply with food safety standards, hygiene, possibly regulatory or certification requirements (e.g. halal, storage, shelf-life, packaging) To adapt recipes from test-kitchen to production scale while preserving quality and consistency Work closely with marketing, sales, operations or outlet-management teams to ensure new products align with brand strategy, customer demand, market positioning and operational capabilities Train kitchen teams (chef/commis) on new recipes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), portioning, plating, preparation and storage Conduct taste tests, assess feedback, refine products accordingly to ensure consistency and meet expectations Estimate cost of ingredients, production costs, design recipes that meet cost targets and yield acceptable margins

Skills & Qualifications:



Strong background in culinary arts, food science/technology, or related field (diploma, degree or equivalent certification) Several years of experience as a chef or prior R&D / product development experience in F&B Good understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, regulatory compliance Creativity and innovation mindset, sense for flavours, textures, and ability to conceptualize products that meet customer demand Ability to document recipes/processes clearly, work with cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects and deadlines Communication and training skills to be able to train staff, explain recipes, lead implementation of new products Flexibility and adaptability

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
