Formulate coating solutions with a strong understanding of raw materials, test methods and laboratory instruments.
Plan and execute projects in collaboration with the global sales team, based on priorities, technical requirements and deadlines.
Conduct lab-scale formulations, application tests and performance evaluations.
Analyse results proactively, prepare technical reports and create presentations or technical bulletins as needed.
Manage laboratory projects and provide technical support for the Coatings business, with a focus on industrial and construction coatings.
Support customers by troubleshooting and providing technical solutions.
Share technical findings and knowledge within the team.
Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field; Master's or PhD preferred.
At least 8 to 12 years of R&D or formulation experience in industrial coatings, paints, or surface treatment, including 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of formulation, performance testing, and industry standards.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 required; knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 is an advantage.
Skilled in using and maintaining coatings testing equipment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical data and results.
Proficient in English; knowledge of Malay or other languages is an advantage.
