R&D Procurement & Product Development Executive

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented executive to support our product development and purchasing operations.
This role focuses primarily on

procurement for furniture and workplace products

, with additional tasks related to

basic design, R&D evaluation, and supplier coordination

.

Approximately

80% of the job involves procurement

and

20% involves design/R&D tasks

.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement (Main Responsibility)

Source and evaluate new suppliers and manufacturers Request quotations, negotiate pricing, and compare cost structures Manage purchase orders for furniture materials and finished products Monitor delivery timelines, quality, and supplier performance Maintain SKU, cost, and product database Conduct cost benchmarking between suppliers Coordinate with internal departments for stock and project needs

R&D & Product Development (Supporting Responsibility)

Assist in basic furniture design, drafting, or product adjustments Prepare product specifications and documentation Support development of new collections, materials, and components Conduct market and competitor product research Work with suppliers on samples and prototype improvements Ensure product feasibility, quality standards, and practicality

Requirements

Experience in purchasing, supply chain, or product development Able to communicate with suppliers clearly and follow-through reliably Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills Basic design or drafting ability is a plus (AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar) Familiarity with materials such as wood, metal, fabrics, and furniture components is an advantage Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
