Join Roche, where every voice matters.The PositionExecute the day-to-day activities according to the highest standards of financial control, compliance and best practice.Ensure quality and accurate delivery of services within agreed key performance indicators and as defined in the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and SOPs of the respective business sub-process.Essential Responsibilities:Key activities & DeliverablesCo-ordinate and complete month end, quarter end and year end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate closure of accounts in compliance with work instructions and month end close checklistPerform and analyse booking accounting transactions, working and calculations are completed timely and accuratelyClearing of open items in accountsEnsure accruals are properly justified and correctly postedTo ensure all journals are performed accurately and timelyPrepare monthly balance sheet reconciliation, highlight and rectify any anomalies encounteredSubmission of monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting packages accurately and within specified timescaleDocumentation & ControllingEnsure all work documentation and work processes are updated and meet with Internal Control Financial Reporting (ICFR), group policies and guidelines, local statutory and legal requirements within agreed service timelinesPerform back up function and other duties, including job rotation to other functional teams as and when requiredParticipate in any compliance audits and respond to audit queriesTransformation/ Continuous Improvement ImplementationsEngage and support the teams, Initiate and complete the implementation of continuous improvement projectWork collaboratively with customers and partnersProactively identify, recommend and implement solutions in consultation with the management for continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of operationAssist to ensure effective knowledge transfer as for sustainable development knowledge and sharing of best practices within the teamWho You Are:Degree or Diploma or equivalent experience in Finance & Accounting/Commerce.Minimum 5 years working experiences in the related field, preferable in the area of General Accounting and Management AccountingSAP knowledge or other ERP accounting systems and MS Office toolsProficiency in English and Japanese is required. Good communication skills are essential, as the role involves supporting our counterparts in Japan.Desirable qualificationsExternal experience in a shared service or business process outsourcing engagement will be preferablePrior leadership or project management type supervisory role may be an advantage.Who we areAt Roche, more than 100,000 people across 100 countries are pushing back the frontiers of healthcare.
