About Periscope Global Advisory
Periscope Global Advisory (Periscope GA) is a public affairs and policy advisory firm focused on platform regulation, digital competition, and emerging technology policy across Asia Pacific. We work with companies navigating complex regulatory environments, helping them engage meaningfully with governments, regulators, and industry stakeholders.
We operate lean but think big, relying on sharp research, resourcefulness, and strong regional intelligence to support clients. We value deep literacy in APAC affairs, appreciate the nuances of local markets, and believe that policy insight is strongest when informed by on-the-ground realities.
Role Overview
We are seeking a
Regulatory Policy & Research Manager (Digital Platforms, APAC)
to join our core team. This is a hands-on, full-time role that blends high-quality policy research and writing with operational management and multi-country stakeholder engagement.
You will be responsible for tracking and analysing political, legal, and regulatory developments affecting digital platforms and technology companies across Asia Pacific. You will independently draft submissions, briefing notes, and advocacy materials for both government and industry audiences. You will also coordinate industry association or client operations, manage projects, and keep all workstreams running smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who wants exposure to live policy debates in the region, is comfortable with both independent writing and client-facing work, and is ready to "own" a diverse portfolio of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Research & Analysis:
Conduct targeted research on technology policy, digital competition, platform regulation, consumer protection, data privacy, taxation, and related political and regulatory developments across APAC. Monitor new laws, government consultations, parliamentary activity, and enforcement trends affecting the digital economy.
Written Deliverables:
Draft and edit position papers, regulatory submissions, briefing notes, meeting summaries, talking points, slide decks, and client updates. Synthesise complex regulatory issues into concise, actionable, and well-structured outputs for senior audiences.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Prepare materials and background notes for meetings with government officials, policymakers, industry association members, and partner organisations. Coordinate industry feedback, clarify positions, and support follow-up on action items.
Project & Operations Management:
Oversee timelines, deliverables, and documentation for both client and industry association projects. Manage meeting logistics, records, invoicing, and communications to ensure effective execution of workstreams.
Monitoring & Intelligence:
Track and flag important political and regulatory developments in priority APAC markets (including Southeast Asia, North Asia, and India). Provide updates and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
Strategic Input:
Support the development of advocacy strategies, contribute to internal discussions on positioning, and advise clients on managing regulatory or reputational risks.
Who We Are Looking For
Experience:
3-6 years in public affairs, policy research, consulting, government affairs, or industry association secretariat roles, ideally with experience across Asia Pacific.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in public policy, law, economics, political science, or a related discipline.
Research & Writing:
Proven ability to independently produce professional, well-structured written work on policy, regulatory, or industry issues--ideally related to technology, competition, or the digital economy.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Comfortable interacting with senior executives, government officials, and industry partners. Able to coordinate input, clarify positions, and represent the firm or clients professionally.
Organisation & Initiative:
Strong project management and organisational skills. Able to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines with minimal oversight. Proactive and solutions-oriented.
Advantage:
Experience with technology policy, digital platforms, regulatory compliance, or competition law is preferred. Regional language skills (e.g., Japanese, Korean, Hindi) are a plus but not required.
What We Offer
The opportunity to work directly on live regulatory issues with major technology and platform companies across APAC.
Exposure to high-level policy, industry, and government engagement on digital economy topics.
Direct ownership of projects, written deliverables, and operational workstreams.
A lean, professional environment with real growth potential and regional responsibility.
Flexible, hybrid work arrangements and competitive compensation.
