The Opportunity A Level B postdoctoral research fellow is expected to carry out activities to maintain and develop her/his scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline. The candidate is expected to conduct research which will lead to the scale up of cervical cancer prevention programs including vaccination and HPV DNA screening and linkage to care in people living with HIV and the general population.. He/she is expected to coordinate a project in collaboration with local and international partners and stakeholders, involved in supervision and training of graduate research students, producing scholarly articles related to the project and actively sourcing for funding to support the activities relevant to the research. Reporting Line: The position reports to Project Leader Supervisory responsibilities: Not applicable Financial delegation and/or budget responsibilities: Not applicable Key Responsibilities Conduct a specified research program under the supervision and direction of your supervisor; Contribute to publishing high quality scholarly papers; Support, if required, the preparation and development of proposals and progress reports for research funding; Mentor and assist, as appropriate and as directed, the graduate research students and final year undergraduate students associated with your research group; Engage in the wider research and scholarly activities of your research group; Take responsibility as requested for day-to-day advice and support of graduate research students associated with your research group. Key Selection Criteria A doctoral qualification (PhD) closely related to the field of public health. Experience working in research in the area of HPV will be an added advantage Demonstrated ability to produce excellent research and supervision of Undergraduate/Honours students Demonstrated ability to work with partners in universities, government and/or civil society Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and teamwork Ability to generate new ideas and links and builds upon existing ideas to generate unique concepts and solutions Your application Your application must address the selection criteria.
