DESIGNATION : Residential Care Associate



RESPONSIBILITIES

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Report to : Superintendent



45 hours per work week (Separate work schedule will be provided for Break hours)



Mon - Fri (6.30am - 3pm) Saturday - Off Day Sun - (9am - 5pm)

PRIMARY JOB OBJECTIVES

Residential Care Associate is expected to serve as a good role model for the children/young persons in our care. He/she should be observant, attentive to the needs of the resident,adopting a holistic care approach, looking into the physical,educational, social, emotional needs and spiritual care of the residents.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY PHYSICAL CARE

1.Ensure that the children are physically clean at all times and by supervising their bathing routines and other cleaning schedules.



2.Ensure that children are properly dressed for each occasion,such as school outings,home programme etc. and have sufficient clothing that is in good condition.



3.Ensure that bed sheets and other laundry is sent for washing at the designated times



4.When assigned, to accompany children for medical appointments and to record feedback from doctors in the medical book. Provide basic health care for minor problems eg. small cuts, and to make sure that medicines prescribe by doctors given to children are in correct dosage and right time.All medication given to the children should be recorded in the medicine book. Any basic health care given to the children should be recorded in the log book so that other staff are kept informed.



5.Ensure that meals are served at designated times and proper hygiene is observed



6.Ensure that children eat a balanced. Ensure that children develop an appropriate sleep pattern.Lights should be out at the correct time and remain on duty till the children are settled.

EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT

1.Ensure that the children attend school and home programs punctually and accompany children for outings and programmes when assigned

SOCIAL / EMOTIONAL CARE

1.Help to develop good manners among the children.Children must be polite towards relatives,staff and visitors and towards each other.



2.Maintain a reasonable level of discipline, ensuring that the house rules are kept by the children.Sanctions such as withdrawal of privileges extrawork or with holding of pocket money can be used according to the outline in the gazette and with the knowledge and approval of the Superintendent.Major problems should be reported to the Superintendent

Gardening Duties

: Upkeeping for gardening in home compound if required

Driving Duties:

Provide transportation services to residents and staff as required on official duties Maintain a logbook for all trips and ensure that the records are up to date at all times Ensure a high standard of safety as well as always obeying all traffic rules and regulations Regularly check and ensure that the various vehicles are properly maintained. A record book must be maintained on all servicing, repairs Monitor dates due for maintenance, road tax and insurance renewals and follow up to ensure that the needful are carried out timely Ensure the general cleanliness of the vehicles at all times Run errands as and when required




QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements:

1. Candidates must possess at least SPM level



2. Passionate in child care services.



3. Good teamwork and interpersonal skills



4. Able to work on shift.



5. Must able to drive manual van



6. Possess a valid driving license with excellent and safe driving
