Job Description


Job Responsibility Ensure a clean, smart appearance at all times. A clear understanding of the company handbook and the regulations stated within. Train, supervise, and control the work immediately. Observe the working attitude of each colleague. Strives to develop self-esteem which results in a friendly, relaxed attitude with guests. Be attentive at all times to guests wants and wishes to increase sales by promoting repeat business. Good understanding of people and genuine interest in food and beverage. Sound knowledge of menu contents. Able to bring forward the problem or complaint received to his/her Restaurant or Assistant Restaurant Manager. Capable of handling mishaps, e.g. spilling of water, wine, or food; and reports to the management anything he/she cannot handle alone. Work closed and updates necessary events or information daily menu items not available and explaining. Make sure food and beverages are ready at the appropriate time. Constant standard of performance whether the operation is busy or not. Work as a team and offer help when needed. Should be able to handle all telephone calls and reservations and work closed with hostess Receive and seat the guests courteously. Takes orders. Engage in suggestive selling. Serve the food and beverages ordered by the guests to the correct service standards. Clear tables and reset the equipment as necessary. Present the bill to the guest. Thorough knowledge of the establishment s facilities and personnel involved. Check mise-en-place before service and maintain good and clean condition. Check table menus for their cleanliness. Practice necessary sanitation measures in food and beverage handling. Acquaint yourself with all electrical and mechanical equipment and also observe all safety precautions whilst using such equipment. Ensure all equipment in the outlet is used in such a manner as to prevent damage and prolong its usage. Ensure the stocking and clearing of stations is adhered to strictly. Adhere to the tipping procedure used. Adhere to all rules and regulations set by the management while on duty. Ensure that the completed Daily Sales reports are sent every night to the management To ensure that at the end of the service, his/her area of responsibility is left clean and tidy; and that doors are locked and energy sources are off if applicable. You may also be required to perform or assigned other duties or responsibilities by the management from time to time that are not stated in this descriptions Job Requirements Excellent Product and service knowledge of Food and Beverage. Good interpersonal skills greet with a smile with colleagues or guests at any time or place. A great team player. Good leadership skills. Always lead by example. Computer literacy will be an added advantage. At least 3 years experience in restaurant service with 2 years in a supervisor or captain position. Preferably with a minimum of Hospitality Diploma qualifications from a recognized institution. Understand occupational Health and Safety standards.
