The Revenue Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing revenue management strategies for all hotel revenue streams, including rooms, food and beverage, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).
This pivotal role involves analyzing market data, managing pricing strategies, controlling inventory, and forecasting demand to maximize revenue and grow market share. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, extensive knowledge of hotel distribution channels, and a proven trackrecord in a competitive hospitality market.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Analysis
Develop and execute comprehensive revenue management strategies to optimize room revenue, RevPAR, and ADR.
Continuously monitor and analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and demand patterns to identify revenue opportunities.
Conduct forecasting for rooms and MICE revenue (short and long-term), ensuring alignment with budgetary goals.
Prepare detailed reports, including pricing analyses, market share reports (STR), and pick-up reports for the executive team.
Pricing & Inventory Management:
Manage and set pricing strategies across all market segments and distribution channels (GDS, OTA, Brand.com, etc.).
Control room inventory availability and restrictions to maximize yield and profitability.
Oversee the management of rates and inventory.
MICE & Conventions:
Collaborate closely with the Sales & Marketing department to develop effective pricing and displacement strategies for MICE and group business.
Analyze group booking trends, lead times, and conversion rates to optimize the convention space revenue.
Evaluate group proposals and provide recommendations on rates and non-room revenue contributions.
Distribution & E-Commerce:
Manage relationships with Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) and other distribution partners, ensuring rate parity and optimal promotion placement.
Work with the Marketing Communications team to ensure that pricing strategies are supported by targeted digital marketing efforts.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
Play a key role in the annual budgeting process for all revenue-generating departments.
Lead weekly revenue strategy meetings, presenting data-driven insights and actionable recommendations to department heads.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in hotel revenue management, preferably in a 4 or 5-star hotel environment.
Direct experience with MICE/Conventions revenue management is highly advantageous.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Property Management Systems, and Revenue Management Systems.
Strong understanding of hotel distribution channels, e-commerce, and digital marketing.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly to senior leadership.
Meticulous attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
