We do things a little differently at Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur On The Park and we are looking for evolutionary Sales talent from any industry to assist our commercial team in launching the first ever Hotel Indigo in Malaysia. Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur On The Park is scheduled to open Q4 2023 and we are now seeking Sales Manager to drive the pre-opening and operating agenda of this vibrantly designed lifestyle hotel located in the key location of Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur. As the first Hotel Indigo in Malaysia, you will introduce this inspired brand to a new market and country. The hotel will boast 180 tastefully decorated rooms, each designed to reflect the hotels neighborhood story, our story is built around the spirit of evolution, as such we need an evolutionary food and beverage leader to bring this story to life. Our facilities include an infinity pool, fully equipped fitness center and our neighborhood caf\xc3\xa9 and bar, offering seamless service and array of experiences reflecting this expressive neighborhood. Regarding the role, it\xe2\x80\x99s as the job title says really, you will be selling our hotel in all the right markets, at the right time, to the right people. You\'ll contribute to and develop integrated sales strategy to promote the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s product, service and/or brand. This is a varied role that includes working in all aspects of the commercial department. You will need to use your great communication skills and build strong relationships with our client base, and continually build this base through our sales and marketing strategy. Your Day to Day:

  • Implement sales and marketing plans to achieve revenue goals.
  • Be responsible for Sales Executive performance, nurture and coach them.
  • Optimise a list of accounts that you manage and are accountable for.
  • Continually reinforce sales presentations and come up with new and exciting ways to deliver messages.
  • Develop positive working relationship with existing customers for repeat business.
  • Explore new business opportunities with potential customers.
  • Represent the Hotel in a variety of situations
  • Negotiate with customers based on the established company guidelines.
  • Ensure quality services and operations by building trustful and positive relationships with customers and co-workers.
  • Be involved in the budget process and any strategy documents.
  • Maintain accurate and complete sales operational and transaction records.
  • Answer customer queries in accurate and timely manner.
  • Prioritize sales tasks based on revenue goals and deadlines.
  • Develop strong customer relationships to widen customer base and marketing opportunities.
  • Maintain company databases and maintain confidentiality in line with IHG standards and procedures.
  • Interact with customers to get feedback on products and services offered
  • Required to work nights, weekends and/or holidays, inline with business needs
  • Effectively manage all aspects of the department\xe2\x80\x99s operation to ensure that the services of the Department are delivered to guests or internal customers with the aim of exceeding guest expectations and in accordance with IHG\xe2\x80\x99s standards and procedures.
  • Set goals and targets for subordinates, their growth is your growth, help them achieve their targets to fully achieve yours.
  • Align management style, working practices and conduct with Hotel Indigo values and standards. To always comply with IHG\xe2\x80\x99s Code of Conduct. Lead by example.
  • Take responsibility for the co-ordination and monitoring of all sales related business, from initial booking where possible through to complete handover.
  • May be required to travel for trade show and exhibitions, sales calls and sales missions, maintaining professionalism while representing the company at all times.
  • Perform site inspections, and be well versed in Hotel Indigo brand standards, as part of the selling style and work with key differentiators.
  • Arrange group/VIP check-ins in liaison with Front Office and Reservations Teams
  • Make sure all back of house billing facilities are accurately delivered to finance department.
  • Attend weekly Department Head meetings, and monthly Sales Meetings and other Management meetings as required.
  • Set budgets and prepare forecasts for the department after analysing business in diary and expected pick-up. Be able to explain surplus and shortfalls against budget; highlight wins and explain/learn from losses.
  • Implement/suggest corrective measures in the instance of unsatisfactory guest comments and/or work practices.
  • Be actively involved and support Hotel training programs, performance management and development of the Events Team.
  • Be aware of cyclical events and be pro-active in planning.
  • Analyse and respond to guest feedback, guest satisfaction and employee satisfaction information; and give a positive commitment to continuous improvement of product and performance.
  • Responsible for the day to day management of associates working in the Department
  • Apply Hotel Indigo culture by demonstrating the standards at all times to guests and fellow associates.
  • Undertake additional duties as requested by the Director of Sales + Marketing and/or other leaders that you report into
  • Personally ensure compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and related Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur On The Park and IHG Policies.
