Our opportunity for you:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join the Vistra Corporate Services (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. team on a full-time basis.

Purpose of the role:

The position will be supporting the Client Acceptance Team teams within Global Service Centre (GSC) Malaysia, who is supporting various regulated markets where the regulatory environments are constantly evolving and challenging. The tightening of these requirements leads to heightened expectations about the quality of files, risk assessment, screening, documentation and Client Due Diligence (CDD) of our clients.

Scope:

As the Associate/Senior Associate, the position will be supporting the Client Acceptance Senior Manager to conduct 4-eye checks/second level reviews for screening activities and clearance of daily hits activities for Vistra Singapore clients in accordance with local group policies, procedures and regulations. The position is also responsible to ensure that process documentations are regularly updated according to the local policies and any other compliance and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities:
  • Conduct 4-eye checks or second level reviews on the screening alerts disposed by the preparer responsible for clearing of daily alerts generated by Screening Deployed (for 100% hits) or approved screening tool by the company.
  • Conduct quality checks/sample checks on the screening alerts (below 100% hits) disposed by the preparer responsible for clearing of daily alerts generated by Screening Deployed or approved screening tool by the company.
  • Conduct 4-eye checks or second level review on the due diligence and background checks on adverse findings via Google/Baidu searches performed by the preparers.
  • Ensure that appropriate documentation for name screening alerts generated from ongoing monitoring have been provided correctly by preparers.
  • Liaise with relevant teams for additional information and escalate true hits to respective stakeholders.
  • Perform consolidation and generation of reports that are relevant to the scope of work.
  • Deliver training for new hires and conduct coaching session of existing team members when required.
  • Ensure adherence to standards and procedure.
  • Escalate potential reportable event/breach to Senior Manager of Client Acceptance Team and Head of Client & Investor Operation.
  • Manage communication with Senior Management to ensure all operational, administrative and compliance function are duly executed in accordance to established policies and procedures,
  • Address queries and escalations and provide solutions that are effective and efficient.
  • Perform any other ad-hoc tasks and project work as assigned
Attributes & Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound analytical and research skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent time management, good organisation skills and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and to excel under pressure for meeting any tight deadlines
  • Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese language skill is an added advantage.
Relevant experience:
  • Possess 3 years of Know Your Client (KYC), Customer Due Diligence or Name Screening experience in a financial institution or equivalent function.
  • Experience in people management and operations is an added advantage.
  • AML experience and good understanding of compliance and MAS regulatory requirements in Singapore is an added advantage
Education/Professional Qualifications:
  • Diploma or University graduate with Bachelor of Law / Accounting / Business / Economics / Finance and related academic qualifications
