We are currently seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to join our team in our Kuala Lumpur office.

The primary objective of this role is to ensure compliance with internal governance of Honeywell through negotiation of proper contract terms with our customers and distributors within the APAC region (excluding China and India) and to lead a team of four contract specialists based in Korea, Japan, Australia and India.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Draft, review and comment on customer sales contracts, distributor agreements, sales intermediary agreements and other commercial contracts.
  • Advise on Honeywell contracting policies and processes.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with customers and counterparties.
  • Analyse and assess contractual risks.
  • Approve or seek approval on deviations to Honeywell contracting policies.
  • Ensure project scope changes or contract amendments are quoted, negotiated, billed, and collected in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with Legal department to resolve or support resolution of complex legal issues by helping define the objectives, strategies and tactics in an intelligent way with the right people engaged.
  • Provide Contracts Management and other legal and compliance trainings.
  • Advise and provide Management with up-to-date information on the local business and legal requirements for contracting with customers and for formulating contracting policies.
  • Organize and/or drive processes in relation to the area of Contracts Management.
  • Support and/or lead dispute resolutions and past due collections in the APAC region.
  • Act as the bridge and point of contact between all supporting functions and business in resolving contractual issues.
  • Maintain up to date contract database and report key metrics and/or pending issues.
YOU MUST HAVE

Education / Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Law (LLB).
  • Admitted to practice.
Experience
  • 8-12 years\' relevant working experience in Contracts Management with a reputable law firm and/or corporation as an in-house legal counsel.
  • Experienced in handling complex contracts: Preference given to experience in contract review and negotiation with EPC companies involved in industrial construction business on a lump sum turnkey basis OR equipment manufacturer / supplier for oil & gas, (petro) chemical, power, water treatment plant or similar industry and technology and software licensing.
  • Has a track record as a manager, which is a plus not a must.
Professional Skills / Knowledge
  • Ability to negotiate and draft contracts.
  • Strong multinational knowledge of contracting principles / laws in APAC region.
  • Good business / financial acumen.
  • Ability to work successfully in different cultures and countries.
