Our client is currently seeking an Associate Designer to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Design Leader to deliver innovative and transformative workplace projects within Malaysia.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the successful designer will provide both technical expertise and creative support to secure, conceptualize, and execute projects successfully.

You will work in close collaboration with the Project & Contract Teams on the entire design and delivery stages of the projects. Actively participate in concept design and storytelling, working alongside a diverse team of architects, engineers, designers, strategists, and other talented professionals.

As a key member of the Design Team, you will take a leading role in the pre-schematic design process, working closely with the Design Leader. Your primary focus will be on crafting captivating, intuitive, and impactful design solutions that are unique to each project and leave a lasting impression on clients. You will actively engage in client interviews, building strong relationships and becoming a trusted confidant from the moment a project is won, all the way through to its completion.

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Interior Design, Architectural Design or anything similar. Must have at least 8-10 years of working experience in Interior Design, particularly in corporate, hospitality, and tourism industry designs. Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD, SketchUp 3D Modeling, and Photoshop.

You will have excellent written and spoken English communication skills. You must be able to communicate well with the Design Team and come up with suggestions for the improvement of the designs. You will need to have strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly shift priorities. You must be able to communicate and work effectively with the global team.
