Overview

The Senior Development Operation Data Engineer reports to the Head of Enterprise Information Management. He/she is responsible in providing leadership and direction to the ETL team. He/she oversees the Data Warehouse operations and performance, day-to-day support of the warehouse and data lake, and oversee any new application development or system enhancement. Some of the key responsibilities and accountabilities are included below:

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

EDW Projects

To manage and coordinate the overall development, SIT, UAT and Implementation efforts of EDW projects.

Leading the Data Warehouse team change management activities, from source control, review and deployment plan.

Project Management & Production Support

Monitor the technical tasks & ensure deliverables are delivered within the project timeline

Work with Business and IT PM, business users to define and support business UAT

Responsible for production support and systems outages are resolved within expected service levels

Other responsibilities

Vendor management

Big Data enhancements

R&D activities on new technologies

Education/Qualification

Malaysia citizen

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college

Professional certification (Teradata/PostgreSQL/Informatica)

Experience

At least 6 to 8 years of similar working experience in Data Warehouse, Data related projects and Hadoop environment

Handling user requirements with at least 2 implementation projects

Special Requirements:

SQL knowledge and hands-on (with strong usage)

Writes advanced SQL including some query tuning

Experience in the identification of data quality

Some database design experience is helpful

Experience designing and building complete ETL (moving and transforming data) in either of these technologies :

SSIS, ODS

ODI, Informatica

Hadoop, Kafka

Datawarehousing

Teradata

GaussDB

Utilize ad-hoc techniques to perform on-the-fly analysis of data

Proficient in how to deploy to and debug a production environment

Experience with real time and batch data ingestion frameworks
