Job Description


CMC is looking for more talents to build up our database for major forthcoming Oil & Gas projects in Southeast Asia. Senior Drilling Engineer To provide a drilling engineering function for the exploration and development well(s) planned, ensuring application of innovative fit for purpose and engineered drilling programmes which comply with the drilling management system. Communicates with sub-contractors and other project departments during planning and execution phases of wells. Responsible for: Completing the engineering work involved in the planning, design and construction of exploration/appraisal/development wells drilled. Works with Project Procurement on the detailed specifications and scopes of work for equipment and services required. Preparation of budgetary and cost estimates for planning and AFE purposes. Preparation of the Well Design Basis and detailed procedures. Preparation of relevant sections of the contingency planning and documentation required for the drilling program. Updating operational procedures as operations progress or fall outside the original well design. Maintaining close contact with the offshore teams on a day-by-day basis and communicating equipment requirements to them. Co-ordination with other disciplines e.g., Materials and Logistics, Exploration, Sub-surface, sub-contractors and regulatory bodies during the planning of drilling, completion and testing related operations. Recommending contractors and services to enable execution of well operations. Carrying out post well reviews (involving the offshore teams) to identify improvements in performance. Preparation of End of Well Reports including specific technical reports covering lessons learned, suggestions for performance improvements etc.. Attending regular planning and operations meetings between the various technical groups Assisting in the control and co-ordination of critical/emergency situations occurring during operations as defined in the Emergency Response Manual. Being part of duty schedule in order to maintain an adequate level of operational support for current operations. Assisting the Drilling Manager in monitoring sub-contractor operational performance. Working Basis : This role is a residential position reporting to the Drilling Manager with expected duration of 1 year minimum with possible extensions. During planning prior to operations the individual will work 5 days a week Monday to Friday. Prior to and during operations the individual will be on call 7 days a week and work alternate weekends on duty to support the drilling operation. Minimum Qualifications: Engineering degree from a recognized University. Minimum 15 years oil industry experience in Drilling Engineering Design and Operations including procurement.
