Job Description


Job Purpose :i. Maintain vigilance over developments in the local regulatory environment to proactively manage the potential regulatory risk exposure of affected divisions/departments
ii. Advise business/support units on compliance laws, rules and standards, including keeping them informed of the developments in this area.
iii. Ensure developments to relevant regulations are effectively communicated to key business stakeholders in a timely manner.Principal Accountabilities:

  • Gather and consolidate the Division\'s compliance activities and prepare Management reports on monthly basis (Compliance report).
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to provide requests/feedback/queries or complete survey from regulators and consolidate & review the stakeholders responses to ensure accuracy or sufficient. (BNM, AIBIM, ADFIM etc).
  • Assist to track and monitor regulatory issues & findings and ensure the issues are addressed in timely manner (within given deadlines - Composite Risk Rating)
  • Review and provide recommendation/feedback to stakeholders with regards to their updates/enhancement of Bank\'s policy, manuals, Standard Operating Procedures and other documented internal control measures to meet the changing regulatory requirements (sign off).
  • Review and update the department\'s policy and manual setting forth the standards and procedures to be followed by Bank staff (as and when).
  • Undertake Department\'s initiative tasked by Section Head and actively involved in the initiative engagements, with regards to enhancement of Compliance operationalization (towards digitalization of processes).
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in business managerial position preferably in development banking and or relevant banking / financial environment.
  • Degree in Law/Banking/Finance/Accounting or any related field.
  • Certified compliance professional is an advantage.
  • Good oral and writing skills and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Fluent and able to interpret regulations or regulatory requirements into layman terms and advice the stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Exceptional analytical, investigative, and organizational skills.
  • Professional with good working ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to assess and understand risks and provide alternatives and provide advise based on the risk identified.
