Senior Formulation Chemist (R&D & Livestream Presenter)

We are looking for a Senior Formulation Chemist who is passionate about research, formulation innovation, and consumer education. The ideal candidate will lead product development projects from concept to launch, ensure safety & efficacy, and occasionally appear on livestreams, seminars, or training sessions to present formulation logic and ingredient science to both internal teams and audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Lead new product development projects (skincare, bodycare, haircare) from ideation, prototyping, testing to commercialization.

Formulate and optimize stable, safe, and effective cosmetic emulsions, gels, serums, and other skincare bases.

Evaluate and select raw materials and actives; ensure compatibility, stability, and sensory balance.

Collaborate closely with marketing, training, and branding teams to translate R&D insights into clear consumer-friendly language.

Represent the brand in livestreams or educational videos, explaining formulation concepts, ingredient functions, and product mechanisms in an engaging and relatable way.

Conduct ingredient research, efficacy testing, and documentation aligned with NPRA, HSA, and international cosmetic regulations.

Prepare technical dossiers, COA reviews, and stability/microbiological reports.

Supervise lab assistants, manage lab workflow, and maintain formulation database.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Formulation Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Applied Chemistry, or related field.

Minimum 5 years' experience in cosmetic or cosmeceutical product formulation.

Strong understanding of emulsifiers, surfactants, actives, and preservative systems.

Familiar with clean beauty, biotech ingredients, and natural formulation trends.

Confident in presenting on camera or in training environments -- able to explain scientific topics in clear, engaging, and consumer-friendly terms.

Detail-oriented, creative problem-solver, with excellent documentation and project management skills.

Bilingual proficiency (English + Mandarin/Malay/Chinese) is a strong advantage.
