Position Overview: The Se Lecturer in Marketing in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Finance is an academic role responsible for teaching and facilitating learning within the business program offered by the faculty. This position involves delivering high-quality instruction, engaging in scholarly activities, and providing academic support to students.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Instruction:
Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops in the field of business.
Develop course materials, including syllabus lesson plans, and instructional resources
Use effective teaching methods, technologies, and assessment strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
Facilitate classroom discussions, group activities, and experiential learning opportunities.
Provide timely feedback and evaluation of students work, including assignments, exams, and projects.
Curriculum Development:
Contribute to the development and review of the curriculum within the Faculty of Business
Collaborate with colleagues to design and update course content, ensuring its relevance and alignment with program objectives
Integrate current industry practices, case studies, and real-world examples into the curriculum.
Stay abreast of developments in the field of business and incorporate new knowledge and research into instructional materials
Student Support and Advising:
Guide and mentor students, providing academic support and advice related to their studies and career goals.
Assist students in selecting appropriate courses, planning their academic programs, and exploring potential career paths.
Address student inquiries, concerns, and challenges related to the course content or program requirements.
Provide guidance and resources to help students develop essential business skills, such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication.
Scholarly Activities and Professional Development:
Engage in scholarly activities, such as conducting research, publishing articles, or presenting at conferences, in the field of business
Stay current with advancements, trends, and emerging topics in business education through continuous professional development
Contribute to the intellectual and academic community by sharing knowledge and expertise with colleagues and participating in academic forums.
Institutional and Faculty Engagement:
Collaborate with colleagues on departmental and faculty initiatives, such as curriculum committees or faculty development programs.
Participate in faculty and institutional meetings, committees, and events.
Contribute to the faculty's accreditation processes, including documentation and assessment activities.
Build relationships and maintain connections with industry professionals and organizations to enhance student learning opportunities
Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in Marketing or Management and master's degree in Marketing/MBA
Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in a specific area of marketing
At least 5 years of previous teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to students
Passion for teaching and engaging students in active learning
Commitment to student success, academic integrity, and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Willingness to collaborate with colleagues, contribute to curriculum development, and engage in scholarly activities
