SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Senior Material Planner primary responsibility is to ensure all materials department report are completed on timely manner and manage small projects to overcome materials related issues. Candidate must be able to work independently and manage stakeholders from cross departments. Must be able to schedule weekly review with superior on the report status and provide inputs on work progress when required. Senior Material Planner need to review master data parameters time to time and advise material planner on correct planning method.



Responsibilities:

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Generate materials inventory report by supplier on every 1st week of the month. Take actions on high
inventory items and provide recovery plan.
  • Run quarterly ABC report for cycle count activity, get approval from Supply Chain Manager (SCM),
Operation Director and Finance.
  • Coordinate for quarterly physical cycle count and to support external audit with warehouse
supervisor.
  • Review material master on quarterly with material planner and advise on Safety Stock/ reordering
point base on demand. Ensure Material Master (MM) aligns with Purchase Infor Record on supplier
Lead Time.
  • Senior Material Planner need to schedule monthly meeting with Material Planner (MP) to review
master data parameters for critical materials and advise material planner on correct planning
method.
  • Work with Global Data Governance (GDG) time to time on materials classifications and valuation
class relevant to Smiths Detection Malaysia (SDM).
  • To update weekly Global material shortage report and attend weekly review. Update SCM and
Operations Director weekly on meeting outcome.
  • Update inventory status and materials for weekly Management Meeting (WMM) SDM report.
Coordinate with MP for latest materials availability status.
  • TRAXX -To run the invoice reporting and work with FF/TRAXX team on any issues.
  • Coordinate month end and quarterly Cycle Count (CC) with KPMG. Update KPMG on CC status and
upcoming CC plans.
  • Liaise with all related stakeholders /department for slow moving materials. Provide the final
provisions for slow moving item. Scrap approval from finance on quarterly, work with Health, Safety
and Environment (HSE) and Trade Compliance Officer (TCO) for material scrap. Update
management on the scrap status.
  • Gate keeper and coordinate Location to Location (L2L) file (import and local) information are updated
timely for bi-weekly review. Coordinate between MP and warehouse.
  • Consolidate month end Accrual report and gain approval to Operation Director and Finance. This will
be captured under month end inventory report.
  • Handle bi-weekly review with Login and any other identified Freight Forwarder on shipment status
and work with MP on Mode of Transport status when there is delay in shipment.
  • Consolidate material provisions for slow moving items and work on solution on consumption with
relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure MRB & RTV disposition from supplier and Quality Assurance (QA) in timely manner.
  • Update Factory Board and SPQDC board 2nd week of every month and have action plan for charts
that do not meet target.
  • Manage DLF project and assist MP to ensure the right Safety Stock planned for DLF parts.
  • Responsible for Vendor on Time Delivery (VOTD) performance and coordinate with MP on VOTD,
identify problematic supplier and work with procurement for corrective action.
  • Monthly Management Operations Review (MOR) update with recovery/action identified for Key
Performance Index (KPIs) miss against target set.
  • To define and participate in programs and projects such as Continuous Improvement, Kaizen etc.
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company HSE policies.
  • Comply with all applicable corporate and regulatory export control and security regulations.
  • Other duties as required.





POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor\'s Degree in Business Studies /
Mathematics / Engineering/ Economics, Commerce or equivalent
  • Preferable with related working experience in specializing in Inventory /
Material Planning /Purchasing & Warehouse
Experience:
  • 5-7 years minimum experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
and managing a small group of planners
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Advanced computer skills including extensive knowledge in Excel
spreadsheet, Word & Outlook.
  • Experience in an SAP system environment.
  • Inventory management skills including inventory reduction and
obsolescence avoidance.
  • Good team player - a high level of enthusiasm and motivation, and the
ability to take input from others
  • Able to understand and align to the organization goals and objectives
  • Able to manage self and others to achieve challenging targets
