Senior Material Planner

Job Description
Responsible to analyze & manage materials planning, optimizing & managing inventory levels to fulfill customer requirements and production needs within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery dates. Ensures materials are available to meet manufacturing build requirements.
- Liaise with production planner on expedite and de-expedite the material delivery.
- Monitor and maintaining optimum inventory level.
- Follows up with suppliers on open orders, past due deliveries and receiving issues.
- Monitor and analyze supplier performance via performance scorecard (SRS).
- Pursue inventory and cost reduction initiatives, such as scrap reduction and slow-moving inventory consumption.
- Working closely with Procurement, Logistics and Operations to achieve on-time shipments and inventory objectives.
- Undertake any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
- Preferably Material Management & Supply Chain Management.
- Good communication skills both verbally and written.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Knowledge of MS Office and ability to learn new software/programs as department needs arise.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems in a manufacturing environment a plus.
