Department Overview NPI Design & Development Engineering



a) Prepare concept designs of mechanical sub-system that meets customer requirements and expectations, reliability and robustness requirements, manufacturing processes and safety guidelines.
b) Work with a team of highly qualified engineers to generate the overall design concept for the mechanical subsystem architecture as well as the detailed design of the mechanical components which include design of injection molding plastic, die casting, sheet metal stamping, rubber and elastomers, and rigid and flexible printed circuit boards.
c) Generate 2D and 3D drawings per mechanical drafting standards
d) Understand tolerances and effect on design (6 sigma design methodology)
e) Set up and maintain bills of materials and release mechanical prints.
f) Support prototype/pilot builds.
g) Perform mechanical verification tests per products specifications and prepare test reports.
h) Compile information for user manuals and/or instruction sheets.

Basic Requirements

a) At least a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines
b) Minimum of 5 years working experience in related field.
c) Demonstrated successful experience in mechanical engineering design from
concept through production release with a focus on DFM.
d) Good in analytical & problem-solving skills.
e) Good knowledge of material properties (sheet metal and plastic).
f) Able to work as an individual as well as a good team player.
g) Able to communicate & present the conceptual ideas to the technical audiences.
h) Experience with 3D CAD and 2D drawing, specifically Pro/E Creo.
i) Experience with various manufacturing processes such as plastic injection
molding, metal stamping, plastic bonding, metal welding and PCBA &
Electromechanical assembly is a plus.
