About this role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you are part of the MEP team that provides input into the overall running of projects (particularly in the Mechanical Services area) to ensure successful project delivery, and the ongoing development of the Team\xe2\x80\x99s effective project management and technical capability. You will have to contribute to the strategic development of the MEP business, including (but not limited to) the positioning of the business within the local marketplace, business plan development and evaluation, and the ongoing development of associated skills and procedures within the Unit.
Business Development/Project Inception: significant contribution to the business development activities of MEP team (Mechanical Services & Sustainable development) through the following:
a) The promotion of the relevant businesses
b) Success in development and procurement of worthwhile projects to ensure the maintenance of workflow, not only to the MEP team but also to other teams across the Division

What will I do?

• Hands on concept and detailed Mechanical design for a range of projects, in a lead discipline engineer role.
• Providing design calculations, drawings and specifications and facilitate and co-ordinate design activities, processes and other technical standards within the MEP team including the review and monitoring of technical standards in the team to ensure that design techniques,design review and check, reference material and software tools are up-to-date and are correctly applied.
• Undertake technical reviews of MEP projects (and MEP team input provided to other projects) at appropriate stages to ensure that the project approach and deliverables.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team\xe2\x80\x99s activities.
• Supervise/prepare proposals/submissions and assist with negotiation of contracts within the MEP team\xe2\x80\x99s framework for such activity and ensure consistent completion of the Mechanical services projects across the team within, budget and programme expectations.

What will I bring?

• Recognized relevant tertiary qualifications in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
• At least 8 years of detailed mechanical design experience with an engineering consultancy.
• Membership of relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies or significant credit towards eligibility for membership.
• Has achieved a professional qualification in relevant area of expertise.
• Good working knowledge of relevant local and international legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
