About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive

Senior Oracle Database Administrator

to lead the management, performance optimization, and reliability of our enterprise Oracle database environments. The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge of Oracle database architecture, RAC, Data Guard, backup/recovery processes, and performance tuning in complex production settings.

This role is critical to ensuring high availability, data integrity, and scalability across all business-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Administer, maintain, and optimize

Oracle databases (versions 12c, 19c, or later)

in production, development, and test environments. Manage

Oracle RAC, ASM, and Data Guard

configurations to ensure database performance, availability, and disaster recovery readiness. Monitor and analyze system performance; implement tuning and optimization strategies. Perform

database patching, upgrades, cloning, and migration

activities. Manage

backup and recovery

operations using

RMAN

, ensuring data protection and compliance. Troubleshoot and resolve complex database, performance, and connectivity issues. Collaborate with development, application, and infrastructure teams to support ongoing projects and system enhancements. Implement and maintain

database security policies, auditing, and user management

. Automate database administration tasks through scripting and tools. Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, standards, and operational procedures. Provide

24x7 on-call support

for production databases when required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum

7-10 years of experience

in Oracle Database Administration, with proven experience managing mission-critical environments. Strong technical expertise in

Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and RMAN

. Experience with

Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)

and performance monitoring tools. Solid understanding of

Linux/Unix operating systems

and shell scripting. Experience with

cloud-based Oracle environments (OCI / AWS RDS / Azure)

is an advantage. Knowledge of

PL/SQL

, database design, and automation tools. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP / OCM)

certification preferred.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM15,000.00 per month
