About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented

Junior Oracle Database Administrator

to join our IT Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will assist in the management, maintenance, and support of Oracle databases across development, testing, and production environments. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow technical expertise in Oracle technologies under the mentorship of senior DBAs.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the

installation, configuration, and maintenance

of Oracle database environments. Support day-to-day

database monitoring

, health checks, and performance tuning activities. Help implement and manage

backup, recovery, and disaster recovery

procedures using RMAN and Data Guard. Support database

patching, cloning, and upgrades

under supervision. Manage and maintain

database security

, including user creation, roles, and privileges. Monitor database performance and assist in troubleshooting issues related to storage, queries, and connectivity. Collaborate with developers and system administrators to ensure database stability and efficiency. Document procedures, configurations, and standard operating practices. Participate in

on-call rotations

for production support as needed (after sufficient training).

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

1-3 years of experience

in Oracle Database Administration or related database support role (fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are welcome). Basic understanding of

Oracle architecture, SQL, and PL/SQL

. Familiarity with

Oracle tools

such as RMAN, Data Guard, and Enterprise Manager is an advantage. Working knowledge of

Linux/Unix environments

and shell scripting preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Good communication skills and willingness to learn new technologies.

Oracle certification (OCA / OCP)

is a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
