KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Involved as part of the ERT team during any emergency, including security aspects of the plant.
• Updating monthly Operation Dashboard / Monthly Operation KPI status.
• Ensures that the Permit-to-Work system is followed satisfactorily.
• Assists in supervising and monitoring Permit to Work any Defect Management System.
• Arranging staff replacement/overtime and ensuring manpower are adequate and available for every normal shift operation or other activities.
• Monitors and controls the start-up and shut down of boiler and its auxiliaries.
• Regulates boiler loads in accordance with station instructions.
• Responds and controls the boiler and its auxiliaries during abnormal operation or emergency situation.
• Monitor and control the start-up, increase & decrease loading and shut down of turbine and its auxiliaries. Regulates turbine loads in accordance with station instructions.
• Responds and controls the turbine and its auxiliaries during abnormal operation or emergency.
• Informs the Supervisor and relevant parties on boiler, turbine and its auxiliaries operation status from time to time.
• Carries out works as instructed by your superior.
• Oversees proper operation of slurry and sluicing system, diesel oil system, auxiliary boiler system, compressed air system, lifts and fire-fighting system at work area.
• Oversees proper operation of sea water pump house system, industrial water & cooling tower system and fire-fighting system at work area.
• Assists other Operator (BTG-CCR2) in the case of emergency.
• Acts as Second-In-Command to the Operator (BTG-CCR2), Operator (BTG-SITE), Operator (Sea Water Pump House) and Operator (Slurry Pump House) after the CCR Supervisor.
• Writes defect lists and to follow up on the rectification works.
• Writes incident report.
• Maintains operation logbooks as a detail and accurate records.
• Briefs your shift successor on any events happened during your shift (proper shift handing over and toolbox).
• Maintains cleanliness and good housekeeping at workplace and dining area.
• Obeys all safety requirements.
• Caretaker of equipment as assigned to you in the Work Performance Targets. The responsibilities as caretaker shall include ensuring cleanliness of the equipments, ensuring every defect is registered and follow up with Maintenance Department on defects rectification.
• To carry out any other required tasks and duties that may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:

• All positions in this job class require applicants to possess minimum Certificate / Diploma qualification, preferable with a certificate of technical training.
• Minimum Three (3) years of practical experience in power station or other related industries.

SKILLS:

• Knowledge of the manuals, procedures and equipment used in the plant operation.
• Knowledge of plant safety and accident prevention measures required for operating the plant.
• Knowledge of thermal power plant operation and its auxiliary equipment.
• Ability to read and write English and Bahasa Malaysia, follow oral/written instructions.
• DOSH competencies required - Steam Engine Driver Grade 1, Confined Space & Working at Height.
• EIU competency required - LV Switching.

• To perform all tasks in line with the Information Security Quality Manual (ISQM) and the ISMS roles and responsibilities procedure.
• To perform all tasks in line with the Information Governance Policy Suite and Guidelines.
• To comply with all requirements regarding the Quality & Environmental Manual and the Quality and Environmental Role and Responsibilities procedure.
