The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in our construction projects, overseeing cost management and contractual aspects. This position involves collaborating with various teams to ensure financial efficiency and compliance with project specifications.
Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates for construction projects, considering materials, labor, and overheads.
Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring financial targets are met.
Contractual Negotiations: Negotiate and finalize contracts with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms for the organization.
Risk Analysis: Conduct risk assessments related to costs, contracts, and project changes, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
Quantity Takeoff: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and assist in the preparation of bills of quantities.
Cost Reporting: Generate regular cost reports for project stakeholders, providing insights into financial status and potential risks.
Change Management: Assess and manage changes to project scope, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes are followed.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with project teams to ensure that quality standards are maintained while adhering to budgetary constraints.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals and resolve any cost-related issues.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring all projects adhere to legal standards.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on bridgework, roadwork, geotechnical works, and earthworks.
Proven expertise in cost estimation, budget management, and contractual negotiations within the specified sectors.
Previous experience with government projects, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of relevant regulations and procurement processes.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and project management in the context of bridgework, roadwork, geotechnical works, and earthworks.
Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
Proficient in relevant software tools and applications.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
