The Senior Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and schedules. This role involves supervising junior engineers, coordinating with subcontractors and consultants, and ensuring quality, safety, and compliance standards are met throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Site Supervision & Project Execution
Supervise day-to-day construction activities on-site to ensure adherence to project plans, drawings, and specifications.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely execution of work.
Monitor site progress, ensure construction milestones are achieved, and report deviations.
Solve technical issues and provide guidance to junior engineers and site staff.
2. Technical Coordination & Quality Control
Review and verify construction drawings, shop drawings, and material submissions.
Ensure that all construction work meets quality standards, design intent, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct site inspections, testing, and surveys to verify workmanship and material quality.
Identify and resolve technical problems promptly.
3. Planning & Reporting
Assist Project Manager in scheduling and planning site activities.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management and client review.
Maintain accurate site records, including site instructions, variations, and work logs.
4. Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure all site activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Promote safety awareness among site personnel and enforce safety policies.
Participate in risk assessments and implement preventive measures.
5. Liaison & Coordination
Coordinate with architects, consultants, clients, and local authorities for approvals and technical clarifications.
Attend project meetings and provide technical input and updates.
Facilitate smooth communication between design, procurement, and site teams.
Requirements:
Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience:
Minimum 4-5 years of site engineering experience in construction projects.
Experience in high-rise buildings, commercial, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, and other engineering software.
Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and teams efficiently.
Additional Advantage:
Familiarity with
CIDB, QLASSIC, ISO standards
, and local building regulations.
Experience supervising large teams and subcontractors.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
