About the Role
You would be working as a Senior Test Engineer for the PAG DMC squad. The squad handles the critical customer-edge components of the New Payments Platform (NPP - which is an industry-wide payments platform for Australia). The squad delivers the Payment Gateway, Domestic Messaging Channel and Basic Infrastructure Management Portal application to the end consumers. Together with the squad members, you would work closely with the Product Owner, the Business Analyst, and the other business stakeholders to continuously deliver new features and maintain the products.
What to expect?
As a senior tester, you will drive the qualification effort in the squad, including develop and maintain test specifications, test cases, sets of regression tests, in an accurate and timely manner. You will be responsible to modernize the existing test automation framework to cater for future enhancements. Also, given business requirements you'd be expected to:

• Help refine the requirements to make them more actionable: Through your expert skills and experience, help the team navigate ambiguity and build order out of chaos.
• Design and devise test method and solutions and providing estimates for them

Key Responsibilities
You will code (writing and automating tests) and maintain software-testing frameworks.
You will propose and create procedures that help to find existing errors in the product and execute test cases as well as regression tests to ensure minimal discrepancy between specified and implemented functions.
You will review functional requirements specification and design documents to ensure testability and become acquainted with products.
You will write and execute test cases of medium to high complexity.
You will analyse and log test results.
You will contribute to testing process improvement efforts, focusing on test automation tools.
You will collect evidences of the test execution and participate to the acceptance test report.
You will propose and lead the implementation of process improvement efforts.
Education & Experience:
University degree in computer science, or adjacent domain.
Minimal 5 years of experience in a similar position or within a testing/development environment.
Professional knowledge and expertise:
Experience working in an agile environment and Scrum
Proven coordination skills in a fast changing environment is a must
Knowledge in Robot Framework, Python, Java (including Maven, Git, Eclipse) or other is an asset
Knowledge in IBM MQ is an asset
Knowledge in Ansible and Jenkins/Cloudbees is an asset
Knowledge in testing methodology/risk management is an asset
Knowledge in API testing tools : Postman, SoapUI or Apigee
Experience with QualityCenter, XRay or other Test Management Tools is an asset
Deep understanding in Devops as part of Agile Software development lifecycle
Knowledge of XML and related validations and transformation technologies is an asset
Knowledge in basic UNIX administration tasks (routing and firewall configurations, package installations, file system management, web and application server configuration) is an asset
Testing methodology certification (e.g. ISTQB) is an asset
Knowledge and skill in the following area will be an advantage:
Problem solving - if there are some problems/bugs encountered, able to provide some initial feedback on what could went wrong. The candidate should see him/herself contributing to deliver the component, rather than a separate function that is just qualifying the product
Knowledge of, or prior experience with containerization technologies and orchestration platforms (e.g. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, and/or OpenShift) and the surrounding concepts, technologies, and techniques.
Knowledge of, or experience with one or more of the major public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and overall knowledge of cloud and surrounding concepts, technologies, and techniques.
Knowledge of, or experience with Apache Kafka.
Knowledge of, or experience with Swift Messaging standards/formats, especially ISO20022.
