Strategy This role is responsible to support CFO in ensuring adherence with all Group&rsquos policies and standards, effective controls are in place, and overall OR exposure is maintained at an acceptable level or within defined risk appetite of the function. Business Manage OR in the function in accordance with the Group&rsquos Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and relevant Principal Risk Type (PRT) Frameworks, Policies, Standards and Guidelines and timely escalate any red flag to Function Operational Risk Forum (FORF) and any other relevant governance / compliance function / forum. Manage governance fora such as GBS Malaysia Regulatory Reporting Policies and Standards (RRPS) Oversight Committee, GBS Finance Conduct Forum, etc. in accordance with relevant Group&rsquos Policies and Standards including Committee Governance Standard. Responsible for Business Continuity Planning (BCP), Records Management and End User Computing (EUC) for the function in accordance with relevant Group&rsquos Policies and Standard. Processes Ensure any risk, exception or issue including risk event and regulatory breach of the function is monitored and discussed in FORF monthly and where required, is logged in risk reporting tool in accordance with Group Operational Risk Policy and Standard, and any action plan is tracked until resolution. Perform risk assessment whenever there is a change internally or externally impacting the function and log any identified risk and establish new control(s) to mitigate the risk. Ensure effective controls are in place and adherence to relevant Group&rsquos Policies and Standards such as Financial Control Substantiation and Reconciliation (FCSR) Policy and Standard through Control Sample Test (CST)/Key Control Indicators (KCI)/Key Risk Indicators (KRI) at defined frequency, and timely escalate any exception to FORF. Perform review on processes and/or controls at least annually in addition to CST/KCI to identify any control weakness and establish or improve control where control weakness presents. Support review of all applicable laws and regulations at defined frequency to identify regulatory obligation for the function and log in Obligation Register for monitoring and consult GBS Compliance, where required, during the review. Ensure all regulatory obligations for the function are managed in accordance with Regulatory Reporting Policies and Standards (RRPS) and other relevant Group&rsquos Policies and Standards, monitor and discuss these obligations in the RRPS Oversight Committee meeting at defined frequency and timely escalate any breach / potential breach to the RRPS Oversight Committee and GBS Compliance. Submit FORF pack for the function and regulatory reporting updates to GBS Non-Financial Risk Committee (NFRC) monthly. Ensure every process in the function has a Process Operating Instruction (POI), and review and update at least annually or whenever there is a change to ensure it is relevant and complete. Conduct other necessary reviews such as secured share drive review, physical record spot check, etc. periodically to ensure adherence to the Group&rsquos Policies and Standards. People & Talent Engage and maintain relationship with business/function unit heads and any relevant Group Operational Risk Officer / Team. Coach and develop risk and control capabilities within the function. Champion Continuous Improvement (CI) within the function. Proven experience in organising, planning, and executing activities from conceptualisation through implementation across multiple internal and external reporting and organisational lines, including proven ability to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements. Good eye for detail and with a strong focus on controls and compliance to Group&rsquos Policies and Standards. Strong business and commercial acumen, with thought leadership, natural intellectual curiosity, ability to think both strategically and analytically, and with a digital mindset. Ability to solve and manage complex situations, identifying solutions that support the function. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, effective questioning and active listening. High integrity and professionalism, with the intent to always do the right thing. Risk Management Understanding of risks and controls in order to ensure compliance with Group&rsquos Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and relevant Policies, Standards and Guidelines, with considerations to practical aspects and awareness of external regulations. Governance Support compliance initiatives relevant to the function. Review and challenge remediation / treatment plan set by the function to effectively mitigate risks / remediate control weaknesses / issues. Regulatory & Business Conduct Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group&rsquos Values and Code of Conduct. Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. Good knowledge and experience in accounting and applicable standards (IFRS, GAAP etc.), Risk Management and Compliance.
