Primary Objective:

Manage Shariah Non-Compliance Risk (SNCR) for RHB Banking Group by leveraging on the Group Risk Management Framework and Policy. Primarily, the function will assist in driving the development of Framework / Policies / Guidelines and risk management tools based on current regulatory requirement, regulatory Shariah resolutions and industry best practices. The ultimate goal is to ensure Shariah Non-Compliance Risk is effectively managed within the RHB Banking Group.

Key Responsibilities: * Supervise incident management functions to ensure all incidents are accurately validated and mitigation action plans address any weakness in internal control process to mitigate recurrence of similar incident.

• Manage process and manual reviews relating to Islamic products and services by ensuring SNC risks are identified and adequate internal controls are clearly documented and addressed for all Shariah related businesses as part of Shariah risk management function.
• Enforce and implement SNC risk policies and guidelines for RHB Group (RHB Bank, RHB Islamic Bank & RHB Investment Bank) to ensure that the functions and processes performed are in tandem with the regulatory requirements.
• Perform management reporting to RHB Islamic Bank (RHBIB) Management committee and RHB Bank Management committee (where applicable) to ensure reports are not only timely but also accurately presented.
• Work closely with Group Risk Operational Risk Management (GORM) on common requirements and initiatives to facilitate smooth and effective support in Group Risk Management.
• Support and assist Head, Shariah Operational Risk and Head, Group Shariah Risk Management in engaging and working closely with RHB Academy, training providers and Business/ Functional units within the Group, for promoting effective Shariah Risk management culture and awareness across RHB Group.

Requirements

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in banking industry especially in Islamic finance

Bachelor Degree - Degree in Shariah law and jurisprudence or in any related disicpline in Islamic Finance/Banking.

Masters degree in Shariah and/or Islamic Finance as well as Shariah related certifications will be an added advantage.

Possess good knowledge on Shariah and banking industry.

Excellent problem solving, communication and interpersonal skill.

Ability to articulate risk context and assessment, highly numerate with good attention to detail, accuracy and consistency
