A multinational furniture manufacturer is looking for a Shipping Manager. In this job, you will manage all import/export and shipping related works with adherence to the local and international requirements to ensure smooth operations for the company.

About the Shipping Manager Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless importation/exportation, customs clearance and approval and inspections from governmental authorities and to manage import taxes as well as decrease delays in material release from customs possession to meet company expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and execute shipment of materials and goods to meet delivery requirements
• Manage close relationships with carriers, freight forwarders and third party logistics partners to coordinate operational needs, manage performance and negotiate rates
• Prepare accurate and appropriate document to ensure the smooth executive of delivery to avoid delays and holdings costs incurred by the company
• Monitor shipment progress and to be the subject matter expert to resolve issues that may arise
• Be the subject-matter expert with regards to international customs regulations to ensure the company\'s compliance
• Maintain good collaboration with customs clearance and brokerage team to ensure 0% delay in import/export goods
• Liaise closely with internal stakeholders such as production, warehouse and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations
• Develop and implement shipping strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and reduce lead times

To succeed in this Shipping Manager role, you will need to have a strong background in customs clearance, trade compliance, shipping management and management of government agencies

Key Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in supply chain management, logistics operations or related field of study
• Over five years of shipping management experience in a manufacturing setting
• Strong experience and familiarity with government processes (PUSPAKOM, SIRIM, KASTAM, MITI, MIDA)
• Experienced in freight operations and wide exposure across all the logistics products and processes
• Strong business acumen and strong import/export trade knowledge
• Consultative and able to collaborate with cross-functional regional stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills and a team player
