Sarawak, MalaysiaJob Family Group: Discipline EngineeringWorker Type: RegularPosting Start Date: March 1, 2024Business unit:Experience Level: Experienced Professionals:Where you fit inYou will be accountable for providing electrical engineering support, solutions, and assurance on all electrical equipment at Shell MDS Facilities related to the maintenance program, condition based-monitoring, troubleshooting, problem-solving, failure analysis, project services, and plant improvement activities to achieve electrical equipment reliability and availability to meet organization HSE requirements and plant production targets within approved budget and resources.You will also be responsible for ensuring that the works are carried out safely according to Shell Global Business Principle, Government regulations, compliance with design codes; Shell DEP, Electrical safety manual, rules and standing instructions, and Shell MDS HSE procedures.What\xe2\x80\x99s the role?

• To provide technical/quality assurance in Electrical power & distribution system, \xe2\x80\x98EX\xe2\x80\x9d equipment, and earthing system for the project, preventive and breakdown maintenance including Safety Critical Equipment (SCE) and Safety Critical Activities (SCA) are performed by defined performance standard as per SEAM processes for assuring the safe and reliable operation of the plant, all nonconformances are managed as per SCE management procedure.
• To enforce and regulate Shell Middle Distillate Synthesis (SMDS) Electrical Safety Rules & Electrical Standing instructions; to plan, schedule, and carry out audit on electrical LOTO performed by AP, CEP, AEP, and SAEP are adhered to Electrical Safety Rules and Electrical Standing Instruction.
• To prepare/review/approve the switching program and perform switching up to 33,000 voltage level and be available for SAEP electrical duty call-out roster to provide effective 24-hour coverage.
• To perform competency assessment for SMDS/contractor AP, CEP, AEP, and SAEP and recommend authorization from the Electrical Engineering manager.
• Focal point of Electrical MTO; to perform fault/root cause analysis, investigate, identify technical solutions, plan, and raise CAPEX for implementation for maintaining electrical equipment integrity and reliability including obsolescence planning of electrical equipment.
• To review, update, and improve electrical ITP/ checklist/report, trending of condition monitoring data, electrical database, and ESP PAM reporting for electrical power system e.g. transformer parameter trending, transformer oil DGA trending, UPS performance, etc.
• To review and comment on electrical engineering design/documents/drawings for MOC/Project are comply with DEM and DEPs, to raise deviation/derogation for noncompliance with DEP as per roles and responsibilities defined by DCAF of TA3.
• Focal point for EEI FAIR/LOD Management System to formulate, plan, and act on the recommendations until close out the action items.
• To support the Maintenance team as the second line of fault troubleshooting for the electrical power & distribution system.
• To ensure the electrical temporary power supply design is safe and complies with the Shell Standard and Electricity Utility Requirement.
• To review and update electrical standards/procedures/standing instructions and infrastructure planning whenever changes are made or time-based.
• Undertake special assignments or tasks as directed by the Electrical Manager.

What do we need from you?

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 8-10 years of working experience in electrical engineering maintenance especially on generation and distribution systems.
• Authorized by the Ministry of Public Utility Sarawak Electrical Inspectorate Unit or Suruhanjaya Tenaga as Electrical Supervisor/Competent Engineer for 33kV class 1 switching.
• Must be skilled and have experience in Electrical Safety, Generation & Distribution Systems, Technical problem solving & Electrical drawings interpretation.
