As our name suggests, we are building out a central platform for metrics where Grabbers from every part of Grab are able to access high quality, reliable and consistent metrics in one place. If you\'re passionate about data and about making a real impact in a dynamic, fast moving organization like Grab, we want you!Get to Know the RoleThe Software engineer role in the Metrics Platform team is a hybrid software and data engineering role. In this role you will be a member of the team that will design and develop Grab\'s Metrics platform and will be providing support for Grabbers who are users of the Metrics Platform, to to help those that aren\'t users yet to on-board onto our platform.The Critical Tasks You will Perform

• You will work closely with other engineers on the team to develop innovative solutions for one or more of our metric platforms\' workstreams. This includes areas like metrics storage and serving, metric metadata, metric engineering, metric testing, and certification.
• You will collaborate with other engineering teams within Grab to integrate their systems with the metrics platform, ensuring they can utilize high-quality metrics.
• You will help expand the platform\'s coverage by working with metrics publishers and consumers to help them utilize the platform more efficiently.
• You will oversee the maintenance and optimization of the systems and automations on our platform, ensuring optimal operation and high-quality metrics services for Grab employees (Grabbers).

QualificationsWhat Essential Skills You will Need

• Educational Background: A Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Analytics, or a related field.
• Programming Skills: Experience with at least one programming language such as Go, Python, Scala, or Java, to develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to break down complex issues into manageable tasks.
• Collaboration Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Data Modeling Knowledge: A working understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts to design and implement data solutions.
• Big Data Technologies: Knowledge of technologies like Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, and Apache Airflow, along with experience in streaming data using frameworks like Apache Flink.
• Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms and services such as AWS to leverage cloud infrastructure for data processing and storage.
