As part of the AirAsia Group, we are dedicated to providing innovative solutions that enhance the digital travel lifestyle.Role Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Engineering team, specifically focusing on our Payments Platform. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend and frontend technologies, a passion for developing scalable and robust payment systems, and a proven track record of managing engineering teams.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Platform Engineering team responsible for the development and maintenance of the Payments Platform.Oversee the design, development, and deployment of backend services using Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, Redis, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Ensure the integration and seamless functionality of frontend components developed with React.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Management, UX/UI, and Operations to deliver high-quality and reliable payment solutions.Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.Drive the adoption of best practices in software engineering, including code quality, testing, and automation.Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and staffing for the Payments Engineering team.Monitor system performance and reliability, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our payment platform remains competitive and innovative.Technical Requirements:Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.Strong experience with MySQL and database design.Knowledge of Redis for caching solutions.Expertise in deploying and managing services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Solid understanding of React and its ecosystem.SkillsLeadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and guide a team of engineers.Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a strategic approach to addressing challenges.Communication: Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement and team collaboration.Project Management: Effective project management capabilities to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.Qualifications:Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master\'s degree preferred.8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.Proven experience in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable payment systems.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make technical decisions in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.Experience with other cloud platforms and technologies.Knowledge of payment gateways, processing, and security standards.Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.Reporting Line:This position reports to the Head of Platform Engineering.
