The role requires someone who will fit well with our existing team dynamic and has the drive, desire and work ethic to continuously learn and level up their skills Your responsibilities will include: Reading Firmware specifications that are created by Firmware Architects, followed by understanding the technical specifications and both work/communicate with cross site teams comprising of Firmware developers to get clarity on issues and r esolving them in a timely manner Create tests from scratch or maintain existing tests in Perl/Python that will be used to validate Firmware used to program/configure FPGA devices Debug test failures found during our weekly FPGA Firmware Regression Cycles Contribute and innovate by proposing new shift-left ideas that may accelerate team efficiency/productivity including increasing Firmware Validation coverage in untouched/unexplored areas You are also highly encouraged to be open to learning new things and be curious about what the FPGA world is about having an interest in advancing your career as a SW developer and developing it into being a SW Architect in the near future is a bonus. Qualifications Successful candidate's qualifications should include the following: Bachelor's/Masters or PhD degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with experience in software/firmware verification/validation. Knowledge of and experience with Perl, Python2/3, including reading Hardware/ Software specifications and turning them into tests A strong work ethic/drive to always improve Works well in collaboration with others Basic ability in debugging/analysing failures while connecting the dots to solve issues Able to work efficiently and independently once familiar with our systems and processes A keen eye for calling out and raising issues without fear of being reprimanded and willing to take calculated risks Strong in both written and verbal communication skills Inside this Business Group The Programmable Solutions Group (PSG) was formed from the acquisition of Altera.
