Spare Part TechnicianLife Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew, we craft and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.Key person in charge of managing the Spare Part Store to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment by managing spare parts, cutting tools, jigs, and fixture inventory; coordinating with maintenance and operation teams; and ensuring timely procurement and distribution of parts.What will you be doing?Coordinate and maintain spare parts, cutting tools, and jigs & fixtures for easy access and retrieval. Handle the receipt and distribution of these items as requested, ensuring accurate registration. Coordinate and collaborate with Procurement, Maintenance, Engineering, and Operation teams to identify requirements. Ensure timely availability of parts for both scheduled and emergency needs, and maintain an accurate inventory. Establish and manage relationships with vendors for reliable part availability, raise purchase requisitions to approved vendors, and maintain records of part usage and procurement through an inventory management system. Generate regular reports on inventory status, usage trends, and procurement activities, and attend team meetings in assigned areas.Align with HSE policy, sustainability and energy policy, HSE regulations, and HSE rules to prevent safety and health injuries, environmental pollution, and energy wastage. Report all HSE incidents and provide feedback for HSE improvements. Other responsibilities may be assigned by the manager, and the role may require shift work.What will you need to be successful?A candidate should possess a Diploma/Technical certificate in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or similar fields, or an SPM qualification with significant meaningful experience. While no specific licenses or certifications are required, confirmed and substantial experience in inventory management is important. Additional technical knowledge of spare parts, cutting tools, jigs, and fixtures, as well as experience with SAP PM and vendor interactions, are advantageous.The role demands general PC proficiency and strong interpersonal skills, with additional language proficiency being a plus. Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, sitting, and extensive use of hands, as well as reaching, stooping, kneeling, and various forms of vision.
