Support the Shariah Compliance Governance Chapter to effectively support business/functional areas in their duty to address the relevant Shariah requirements, regulations and best practices as part of the overall Shariah Compliance governance of the Group.
Assess and translate new and existing Shariah regulatory requirements into internal business context & documentations (e.g. circulars, SOPs, manuals, etc.)
Review and advise businesses on Shariah products and services proposals and papers.
Provides advisory on matters pertaining to Islamic regulatory requirements.
Validates conditions set prior to a product or service implementation to ensure Shariah compliant.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Shariah CoE to internal & external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Shariah Compliance Governance Chapter functions as described under the Key Performance Indicators and Operations Manual being duly executed.
Establish and manage the Annual Financial Budget for GSBC to ensure that the budget is submitted by the given deadline and contain the eventual spending within the approved budget.
Prepare and maintain the pertinent documentations for GSBC, e.g. GSBC\xe2\x80\x99s Manual, SOP, Functional Documents, Checklists, etc. to ensure that the given documents are relevant and updated.
Manage GSBC\xe2\x80\x99s ad hoc tasks to ensure that the given tasks are achieving its objectives.
Manage trainings or awareness programs relating to Shariah Compliance for GSBC to raise awareness on Shariah Compliance for the Group.
Assist advisory on matters pertaining to Shariah Compliance implicating RHB Islamic and RHB Banking Group to address particular objectives.
Act as the focal point with either internal or external parties to address matters relating to GSBC to address its intended objectives.
Requirements
Requirements: Bachelor Degree - \xe2\x80\xa2 Relevant degree holder from recognized higher educational institutions.\xe2\x80\xa2 Relevant Shariah certifications on Fiqh al-Mu\'amalat..
- \xe2\x80\xa2 Professional Shariah certification recognized by the professional body for the banking in Malaysia e.g. Association of Shariah Advisors in Islamic Finance (ASAS) and Islamic Banking & Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM)
Minimum 3 years of working experience
Minimum 1 year of working experience in Islamic banking products and services
Minimum 2 years of working experience in handling compliance functions or related experience, e.g. internal audit or operational risk in a financial institution
Minimum 1 year of working experience in a commercial banking environment
