About the Role

This role will be responsible in ensuring that all Specialist - Accounts Receivable & Payable activities are performed in a timely, accurate & efficient manner and in accordance with Group and International Accounting standards.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparation and processing of accounts payable journals and manage accounts payable clearing, including investigation and follow up with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely resolution
  • Preparation of CJE to reclassify out Capital Creditors from Trade Creditors on monthly basis for reporting purposes
  • Preparation and processing of third party sundry invoices
  • Identify emerging trends or problems regarding outstanding balances, process payments received from customers and contribute to the resolution of customer queries and disputes
  • Manage trade/sundry customer receipts clearing, including investigation and follow up with stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely allocations
  • Manage and report against the sundry debtor ageing
  • Review and reconciliation of relevant general ledgers to ensure transactions are recorded accurately, follow up with stakeholders and clear reconciling items
  • Liaise with third party debt collection agent regarding aged debts
  • Preparation of briefing papers and Stewardship Review at financial reporting dates
  • Assist with internal and external audit queries
  • Contribute to and support global process standardization
  • Assist with analysis and query resolution as appropriate
  • Support and build relationships with co-located accounting and reporting, finance business partners, asset and operations stakeholders based in various locations globally
  • Support SOX compliance and testing by ensuring the internal controls in place are performed effectively and address the associated risks
  • Provide assistance to other team members and stakeholders where required, act as backup and assist with other ad hoc tasks in their absence
  • Continuous drive for process improvement by assisting with the identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives within the team and processes
  • Support the open communication, collaboration, sharing of ideas and information within the GBS R2A Finance and co-located accounting and reporting teams.
About You

Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CA or CPA accounting qualification
Experience & Technical Competencies
  • Experience in SAP application
  • Competent in Microsoft excel
  • Knowledge of accounting principles for application to tasks and processes
  • Problem solving - uses logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
  • Exposure to compliance / governance related activities, i.e., SOX
Language
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
