Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Improve supplier and contract manufacturing qualifications by performing surveillance activities to reduce occurrences and risks of supplier excursions.
  • Implement SQE policies and practices to accommodate tiered suppliers and contract manufacturing suitable to business needs such as automotive, key and commodity supplier types.
  • Establish improved practices and protocols for assessing and qualifying supplier to be on the Wolfspeed Approved Supplier and Qualified Item list.
  • Establish and implement Quality Agreements suitable to CREE-Wolfspeed business needs. Work with Supply Chain to deploy track and manage supplier's adherence to these SQE supplier agreements.
  • Integrate the effective use of APQP/PPAP policies and method in a tiered manner across the supply base.
  • Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams during the New Product Introduction process to define supplier requirements that will flow down to suppliers during qualifications.
  • Perform audits to establish policies and protocols for assessing the manufacturing readiness of suppliers to ensure they can deliver to the required quality standards.
  • Manage supplier performance through key quality metrics that drive supplier to meet and achieve the necessary requirements such as IATF 16949, AS9100, ISO 9001:2015.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews meetings to provide technical metric driven feedback to enable to supplier to drive further improvements.
  • Manage Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process to ensure timely and effective root cause analysis and corrective actions. Perform on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of corrective actions of supplier quality issues when needed. When appropriate work with the supplier directly, to create corrective action plans. to address process failures.
  • Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, FMEA, Maverick Programs, SPC, and other outlier strategies.
  • Manage the supplier change notification process that advises the BU on supplier initiated changes. Work with the Engineering/Operations Teams to review approve and qualify proposed changes.
  • Participate in MRB and PCRB reviews with critical internal stakeholders, drive root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Modern data analysis skills such as JMP and Excel.
  • Organization skills, the ability to multi-task and set priorities to meet goals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Balanced professional capable of seeing the big picture while managing the details and is motivated by results.
  • Demonstrated experience with hands on semiconductor packaging problem solving, driving. problems to root cause with effectively implemented CAPA.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve process engineering issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of SPC and ship to control methods in a production environment.
  • High energy, self-motivated attitude with strong communication skills and an ability to interface effectively with different backgrounds and at every level of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail while effectively managing time.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Based in Malaysia; Prefer IPOH Malaysia
  • Certified Lead QMS Auditor for Automotive Industry IATF 16949:2016.
  • Certified VDA 6.3 Auditor.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification or equivalent work experience or company certification.
  • 10 yrs demonstrated experience with 24 hr global engineering contract manufacturing management.
  • 5yrs demonstrated experience with automotive customers.
  • Experience working with fabless companies as a SQE management role with contract manufacturing suppliers.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor packages (RF, Power) and materials.
  • Demonstrate abilities to lead in problem solving/countermeasure events where quality issues are diagnosed, discussed, and resolved.
  • Lead and drive the organization using widely accepted quality techniques such as the 8D problem solving, 5 Whys, Kaizen events, SPC, Maverick, DPAT, SPAT.
  • Certifications in APQP, PPAP, FMEA.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time throughout Asia.
  • International travel (North America/Europe) 1-2 trips per year.
