\xe2\x80\x9cHello there, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Buyer to join our manufacturing organization in UPM Raflatac. The Technical Buyer will play a crucial role in procuring technical components, materials, and equipment necessary for our production processes. This position requires a strong understanding of manufacturing operations, technical specifications. The successful candidate will be responsible for supplier evaluation, negotiation, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality goods while maintaining cost efficiency. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do

  • Identify and source technical components, materials, and equipment required for manufacturing operations.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and technical capabilities.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand technical specifications and requirements for purchased items.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, industry regulations, and applicable certifications.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate effective communication and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
  • Conduct regular supplier assessments, including performance evaluations and audits.
  • Forecast demand, manage inventory levels, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure availability of materials and components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement process.
  • Stay updated on market trends, new technologies, and industry developments that could impact procurement strategies.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
  • Monitor and analyze market conditions, pricing trends, and supplier capacity to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
  • Resolve any technical or quality-related issues with suppliers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, value engineering, and alternative sourcing strategies.
  • Manage the local IMS (Indirect Materials and Services) suppliers and their performance in coordinating with the global sourcing team and the local teams.
  • Manage the local IMS spend and drive initiatives to optimize the IMS costs, implement global sourcing rules in the local sites
  • Manage sourcing/procurement matters related to indirect purchases, lead procurement related changes implementation in local unit.
  • Comply code of conduct in IMS area and effectively implement agreed rules and standards in own work, enforce agreed policies and procedures throughout the Requisition \xe2\x80\x93 to \xe2\x80\x93 Pay process.
  • Supervise local purchasing team, manage the procurement process including: negotiations agreements with suppliers, quotation, comparison offering, orders handling, on time delivery, cooperation with accounting departments regarding invoice handling, contract archiving
  • Analyze and improve effectiveness of procurement process, provide local investment support
Who you are
  • You have Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Buyer or in a similar procurement role within the manufacturing industry.
  • You have min 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in purchasing department with International Production Company. Knowledge of SAP system will be an advantage.
  • You have enough flexibility and you are able to adapt quickly in changing conditions.
  • You are a team-player with good communication and social skills.
  • You are proactive and independent

  • Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, technical components, and equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of supply chain management principles, including sourcing, procurement, and supplier relationship management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate technical specifications, pricing, and supplier capabilities.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and systems for purchase order management and supplier performance tracking.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, industry regulations, and certifications relevant to the manufacturing industry.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address technical and supply chain challenges effectively.
